Conference overview

Energy Ireland® National Retrofitting Conference 2024, in partnership with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and sponsored by SSE Airtricity, is taking place on Thursday 28th of November 2024. The Government has developed an area-based and one-stop-shop approach to retrofitting in order to upgrade at least 500,000 homes to a B2 energy rating by 2030. SEAI is the designated National Retrofitting Delivery Body charged with delivering this ambitious programme. Energy Ireland, in partnership with SEAI, has organised this year’s National Retrofitting Conference and this will be the fourth get-together of all the key stakeholders involved in the delivery of the programme. This year’s conference will also look at the deep energy retrofitting of public sector and commercial buildings.

The objective of the conference is to discuss progress to date and to share any learning from the implementation of the programme. It is also relevant to those organisations that may be interested in getting involved.

The conference will cover the following themes:
  • Update on the National Retrofitting programme;
  • One-stop-shop approach best practice;
  • Challenges and opportunities in adopting heat pumps;
  • Closing the skills gaps in retrofitting;
  • Deep retrofitting in the social housing sector;
  • Public sector buildings retrofitting programme;
  • Developing the retrofitting supply chain in Ireland;
  • Deep energy retrofitting of commercial buildings;
  • Engaging the construction sector in the retrofitting programme.
